Head of Neuroscience DPT – Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital – Rome  Training:  – Postgraduate Diploma in Neurology and Psychiatry achieved in Rome; Training in Pediatric Epilepsy at Saint Paul Center of Marseilles in 1977; Since 1978 Pediatric neurologist at Children’s Hospital Bambino Gesù where he now holds the position of head of Neuroscience DPT.  Fields of clinical and research interest: Pediatric Epilepsy, Epileptic Encephalopathies, Drug-resistant Epilepsy, Genetic of Epilepsy, Video-EEG and Long-term monitoring in epilepsy, Coma in children, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Non epileptic paroxysmal manifestations, Movement Disorders, Neurosurgery, Ketogenic Diet, Cognitive Outcome. He identified a clinical entity that is currently recognized as a syndrome, called Benign Infantile Familial Seizures. He has published as first author or co-author more than 200 papers in the most important international journals dedicated prevalently to epilepsy and paediatric neurology. Memberships: – President of the LICE (Italian League Against Epilepsy) from 1999 to 2002;  Ambassador of Epilepsy since 2001; Member of several ILAE Commissions; President of the European Advisory Council of the ILAE 2001-2005. Referee of several scientific Journal dedicated to epilepsy and paediatric neurology. He received the European Epileptology Award by the ILAE Commission on European Affairs (CEA) in Prague, September 2016. He has been in the Scientific and/or Organizing Committee of the European Congress: Florence, Madrid, Vienna, Stockholm. Has been the Chair of the Scientific Committee of the International Congress on Epilepsy (Rome 2011). Since 2013 he is the organizer of the “International Course on Resistant Epilepsy” (Tagliacozzo – Italy); President of 19th International Symposium on Severe Infantile Epilepsies: Old and New Treatments, Rome, September, 2018. Since 2017 member of the EPNS Board.
